Gardiner Walter L. McClure, 52, of Gardiner, died unexpectedly Aug. 8, 2011 at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. He was born in Waterville, Aug. 19, 1958, the son of Robert and Ethel Jenness McClure. Walter considered Catholic Charities of Maine his family. He collected bottles and cans around town. He referred to women as "sweet heart and darling". He was predeceased by his parents and by a brother, Raymond McClure. He is survived by two brothers, Bobby McClure of Augusta and Foster McClure of Warren; a sister, Lorette Randall of Waterville; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Ezra "Junior" who used to say "you need to get your hair cut"; Lorette's dog "Izzy"; special thanks to friend, Linda. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Walter McClure's memory may be made to Catholic Charities Adult Mental Health Services, P.O. Box 378, Fairfield, ME 04937. Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wed., Aug. 10, 2011 with a funeral service at 9 a.m. Thurs., Aug. 11, 2011 at the Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville with Rev. Diana Hartley of High Prices Lighthouse in Madison officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Grove St., Waterville.
