Virginia Deag Maheu Rodrigue\r\n1930 - 2019\r\n\r\nWATERVILLE - Virginia Rodrigue of Waterville departed this life on February 11, 2019, at the age of 88.\r\n\r\nBorn Beatrice Virginia Deag on November 28, 1930 to Philip E. Deag, Sr. and Loretta (Roy) Deag. At the age of 9 months went to live with and later adopted by Police Officer George Maheu and his wife Odelie (Bisson) Maheu and later changed her name to Virginia Beatrice Maheu. Virginia was educated at Notre Dame School and graduated from Mount Merici Academy in 1949.\r\n\r\nShe married to Donald E. Rodrigue on September 4, 1950. They were married for 60 1/2 years. Her last two employments were Don's Variety on Water Street in Waterville, that she co-owned with her husband for 4 years and was later employed as a school bus driver for AOS 92 (Winslow) for ten years.\r\n\r\nVirginia was predeceased by her husband, who passed away in April of 2011, her birth parents and her adoptive parents as well as her brother Philip E. Deag, Jr., half-sister Donna Cookson and two still born sons, Thomas and Ross.\r\n\r\nVirginia is survived by her daughter Peggy (Margaret) Pellerin and companion Edgar Cormier; her son Tim (Timothy) Rodrigue and wife Michelle; grandchildren Erika Pellerin and companion Jeff Carlton; Lori Card and husband Dana; Jason Rodrigue and companion Adam Smith; Nicole Hawkins and husband James; her half-sisters Dorothy Collins, Mary Sands (Galon), and Celeste Kirchdorfer (Allen), and her dear friends Evelyn Blodgett and Karen Proctor.\r\n\r\nAt her request, there will be no visiting hours. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Church, 26 Monument St., Winslow on February 23, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery.\r\n\r\nWe wish to express our sincere thanks to the teams of the Winslow Rescue and Delta Ambulance, the medical staff of the second floor of Northern Lights Inland Hospital, as well as Maine General Hospice for their care and kindness. \r\n\r\nArrangements under the direction and care of Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm Street, Waterville.
