Auburn-Theresa Raymond, 91, passed away peacefully on the evening of October 5, 2015, at Hospice House in Auburn, Maine. Though she battled a lengthy illness, she was a fighter until the end. Theresa was born in Frenchville, Maine on January 19, 1924, and was the widow of Albert Raymond. In 1955, the family moved to Connecticut, where Theresa took employment at the Marlin Rockwell Corporation in Plainville, CT. There she worked as a power press operator for over three decades. She and Albert then returned to Maine and eventually settled in Canaan. Theresa was affectionately known by many names: Mom, Mmre , Ol' Mmre, Ma Tante, and Peanut just to name a few. She loved playing, and often winning, cards and bingo. Taking a trip to the casino was her favorite pastime. Theresa made the best "ploys" and raisin squares. Her entire family will miss her tremendously. We love you mom! Theresa is predeceased by her parents, Alphonse and Modeste Dumond Raymond; sisters, Isabelle Nadeau and Jeannette Du Bois; brothers, Philomon, Renie, Romeo, Bertrand, Ben, and Roger; and grandson, Carl Raymond. She is survived by her son, Roland of Maine; daughter, Rose and son-in-law, Joseph Natale of Connecticut; and daughter, Rena Natale of Canaan, Maine. Sisters, Cecile Theriault of Ft. Kent, Lucille Raymond of Biddeford, and Rena Adams of Madison; and brother, Augustin of Kenduskeag, also survive her. Theresa was the beloved Mmre to her grandchildren: Debbie DeMerchant and her husband Bill; Marc Raymond Jennifer; Rochelle Natale and husband Attorney Timothy Bupp; Patricia Natale; Suzanne Natale and husband Peter Rappoccio; Chantelle Natale and husband Nathan Nixon; and Chelsea Natale. She was a great-grandmother to Eric, Angelica, Joseph, Vincent, Lucy, and Charles, and great-great-grandmother to Kayla, Madison and Dylan. The family would love to thank Theresa's second family at Sarah Frye Home in Auburn for providing her with immaculate care and comfort. Also, a special thank you to the staff at Hospice House in Auburn for their kindness and empathy in Mom's final days. A private, family visitation will be held at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm Street, Waterville, Maine. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 am on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Notre Dame Church, 116 Silver Street, Waterville, Maine. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in her memory, to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, 15 Strawberry Ave, Lewiston, Maine 04240.
