Robert G. Pouliot 83 died Friday evening October 2, 2011 at the Woodlands Center Evergreen Unit in Waterville. He was born in Portland, Maine on April 19, 1928 the son of Yvonne Marie Pouliot. His grandparents, Adelia and Napoleon Pouliot brought him up from the age of five. He was educated in Portland schools. He was formerly employed as a shipping clerk for many years for the C.F. Hathaway Shirt Co. He was a World War II veteran having served with the U.S. Air Force overseas in Okinawa, Japan. He was a member of the Bourque-Lanigan Post 5 American Legion and was a member of the Honor Guard. He is survived by several first cousins: Jean Pouliot of Oakland; Henry Pouliot of Fairfield; Romeo Potelle of Waterville; Albert Potelle of Fairfield; Jeannette Labbe of Waterville and Theresa Lemieux of Fairfield and Gloria Simpson of Winslow; Also by several second cousins in Connecticut. He is also survived by his aunt, Alma Pouliot of St. Albans, Me. He was predeceased by his wife, Florence Durgin Pouliot on February 15, 1989 and his mother in 1988. Friends and relatives may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Gallant Funeral Home 10 Elm Street Waterville, Maine A mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church 70 Pleasant Street Waterville, Maine. Committal prayers with military honors will be in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery Civic Center Drive in Augusta, Maine.
