Waterville Richard A. Chipman, 79, of Waterville, died Mon., Oct. 12, 2009 at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Thayer Unit, in Waterville. He was born in Waterville, Apr. 6, 1930, the son of Harley and Harriet Doherty Chipman. He was a Waterville High School graduate. Richard was employed for 38 years at Keyes Fibre. He was a member of the National Guard Company I as a Staff Sergeant. Richard spent many happy years fishing, Gardening, swimming and enjoying his summer home in Belgrade. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lorraine Drouin Chipman of Waterville; two daughters and their partners, Donna Dionne and John Fisher of Vassalboro and Pamela Dudley and James Furbush of Sidney; grandchildren, Justin and Elizabeth Dudley, and Erron La Flamme; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Pauline Gallant of Waterville, Arlene Yerkes of Pittsfield, MA and Mary Plourde of Waterbury, CT. Family, friends and neighbors are invited to a graveside funeral service at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2009 in Pine Grove Cemetery, Grove St., Waterville with Rev. Mr. Peter Joseph officiating.
