WinslowPhilip Begin died Friday, June 26, 2015, in Winslow. He was born in Waterville on November 10, 1946, son of Norman and Marie Martin Begin. He was a graduate of Clinton High School. Following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served four years, participating in the Vietnam Conflict as an Electronics Technician aboard the destroyer USS Cogswell. Following his Naval service, he was employed by New England Telephone for 23 years. He then operated Begin Telephone Service for 19 years retiring in 2010. Phil is survived by his wife of 39 years, Juanita Bouchard Begin; a son, Adam Begin of Denver, CO.; a daughter, Sarah Begin and fianc Stewart Quigley of Reno, NV.; and by a sister, Kim Sawyer of Maricopa, AZ. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Winslow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. Friday, July 3, 2015 at Notre Dame Church, 116 Silver St., Waterville. Interment will be at 10 A.M. Friday, Sept. 4, 2015 in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta.
