Oakland -- Muriel K. Vear, 77, died Wed., Mar. 11, 2015 at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. She was born in Waterville, July 10, 1937, the daughter of Leo and Marie Roy Rancourt. Muriel was a 1955 graduate of Mt. Merici Academy in Waterville. She volunteered at MaineGeneral Medical Center. She was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed playing cards with friends. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting and being with family. Her Sunday meals were special. Muriel was predeceased by her parents; six brothers, Jerome, James, Bob, Norman, Everett, and Eugene Rancourt. She is survived by a son, Robert Vear and his wife Darus of Waterville; a daughter, Laura Mathieu and her husband Robert of Oakland; brother-in-law, Norman Veilleux and wife Julie of Winslow; four grandchildren, Nikkia Veilleux and husband Timothy, Sarah Michaud and husband Ryan all of Waterville, Michael R. Mathieu and Becca Boo Mathieu of Oakland; three great-grandchildren, Isaiah Vear, and twins, Hannah and Samuel Veilleux; her sister, Ann Veilleux and her husband Gerald of Dexter, MI, several nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Beatrice "Bea" Rancourt of Fairfield and Betty Rancourt of Winslow. The family would like to thank 2 West at MaineGeneral Medical Center for their care of Mom. A Mass a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Monday, Mar. 16, 2015, at Notre Dame Church, 116 Silver St., Waterville. Burial will be in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Grove St., Waterville.
