Waterville Mildred Roy formerly of 24 Burleigh St., died Mon., Oct. 13, 2008 at Lakewood Continuing Care Center in Waterville at the age of 99. She was born July 3, 1909, in St. Romain, P.Q., Canada the daughter of Arthur and Albertine Isabelle Roy. She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Andrew Roy; and by an aunt, Celestine Isabelle. Miss Roy attended Winslow schools and worked at Keyes Fibre, Red Star Laundry and the Portland Shipyard during WW II. She loved traveling and had fond memories of her trip to Europe sailing on the Queen Elizabeth II visiting England, Italy, Spain and returning on the Queen Mary. She is survived by special cousins, Lucille Roy and Gabrielle Roy. They wish to thank Lakewood center for the care and kindness they gave Mildred. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Fri., Oct. 17th with Rev. Chris Piselli officiating. Committal prayers and burial will follow in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Grove St., Waterville. Arrangements are with the Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville.
