Waterville Michael R. Quirion, 39, died unexpectedly Dec. 24, 2006 in Waterville. He was born on Dec. 5, 1967 in Waterville, the son of Robert H. and Roberta Smedberg Quirion. He graduated from Winslow High School, class of 1986. While in high school he participated in basketball and football. For many years Mike worked in the fishing and lobstering industry, which paired well with his love of the ocean. Mike enjoyed sports, especially the Patriots, Red Sox and the Celtics. He was interested in politics and enjoyed listening to talk radio. Mike was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Mary Smedberg, and his paternal grandfather, Robert Quirion Sr. He is survived by his parents, Robert and Roberta Quirion of Winslow; a loving grandmother, Marcella Quirion of Waterville; his sister, Ann Willette and her husband Paul of Waterville; his sister, Jennifer Thomas and her husband Paul of Corinth; a nephew, Tyler Willette of Waterville; nieces, Logan and Lexi Reardon of Corinth, and Alice Willette of Waterville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Mike had a love for the ocean and animals and would spend countless hours playing slapjack with his nieces and nephew. Mike's family would like to thank David, Steve and Chris and many other true friends who tried to reach out and help him find his way. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to the Waterville Humane society at 120 Drummond Ave., Waterville, ME 04901. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thurs., Dec. 28 at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Fri., Dec. 29 at St. John the Baptist Church, 47 Monument St., Winslow.
