Waterville Marie ''Judy'' Libby Kershner, 69, of Myrtle St. in Waterville, died sat. Jan. 16, 2010, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Thayer in Waterville. She was born May 9, 1940 in Waterville the daughter of Ernest and Marie Blanche Shank Godbout. Judy was a very hard worker for her entire life. She worked over 40 years at Keyes Fibre later known as Huhtamaki as head of the laminating dept. After retiring she went to work at Mardens in Waterville as a cashier. Judy happily attended all the events her grandchildren participated in including gymnastics, Baseball games, school concerts, basketball and soccer games. Her favorite hobby was going to Bingo. She also loved the beach and collecting sea shells. She will be sadly missed by all her family. Thank you to the MaineGeneral Medical Center Thayer Unit staff and Hospice workers who helped take care of her and especially Dr. Waldron who has been with us every step of the way. She was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Marie Godbout and a sister, Marie Lorette Blum. Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Ronald Kershner of Waterville; three sons, Joseph Ronald Libby Jr. of Waterville, Michael John Libby of Benton, and Richard Keith Libby of Damariscotta; a daughter and her husband, Rebecca Ann Libby Shepard and Garrett of Fairfield; three step-sons, Trever Kershner of Waterville, Daniel Jon Kershner of Atlanta, GA. and Anthony Kershner of Bangor; two brothers, Lionel Godbout of Waterville and Roger Godbout of Kahal, Indiana; grandchildren, Joshua Scott Shepherd, Isaac Matthew Shepherd and wife Cassandra, Hannah Marie Shepherd, Ezra Jonathan Shepherd, Noah Joseph Shepherd, Gabriel Stephen Shepherd, Timothy Jamin Shepherd, and Diana who lives out of state and Hollyn Weston Kershner of GA.; a great granddaughter, Naomi Raine Shepherd; several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Fri., Jan. 22, 2010 at the Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Sat. Jan. 23, 2010 at St. Francis de Sales Church, 52 Elm St., Waterville. Burial will follow in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Grove St., Waterville.
