Leslie P. Martin, 86, of Clinton died Aug. 12, 2013 with his daughter Norine by his side. He was born in Bingham, Maine on Oct. 2, 1926 the ninth child of Morris and Avis Powell Martin. He attended Bingham schools then served in the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1946. In 1948 he met and married Frances Wilson and they settled in Richmond, Maine where they raised their family. Leslie worked for A & P for 32 years and ended his career by owning and operating his own grocery store in Bingham. He enjoyed a long and enjoyable retirement. Leslie was predeceased by his wife, Frances N. Martin; son, Joseph Martin; grandsons, William "Billy" Fox and Tracy Derr. He is survived by his loving daughters, Donna Derr of Michigan, Jo Fox of Palmyra, Shirley Williams of South China and Norine Martin of Clinton; five grandchildren; and by several great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at the Harold Alfond Center and MaineGeneral Hospice team for all their support. In lieu of flowers, please give to a charity of your choice. Committal prayers will be offered at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2013 by Angela Boivin of All saints Catholic Parish in the Richmond Cemetery, Main St., Richmond with the Military Honor Team.
