Winslow In loving memory of John A. McCormack, born Jan. 20, 1926 and passed away Feb. 18, 2014. John was the son of J. Frank and Elizabeth McCormack, brother of Ethel Pierson deceased, Mary Lynn Wheaton, and Priscilla Glidden. John would have celebrated his 65th wedding anniversary on March 4th. He left behind his loving wife and mother of his children, Jean Macklin McCormack; also surviving daughter, Nancy Galdo; two sons, John F. McCormack and Daniel McCormack; grandchildren, Joseph and Julia Galdo, John C. and James McCormack; and great-grandchild, John M. McCormack. Born in Lynn, MA., John grew up in Macwahoc, Maine. He was a WW II veteran serving in the Navy and was on Okinawa when the war ended. He worked for NE T&T for five years in Waterville, transferred to Miami, FL in 1951. He retired to East Pond, Oakland, ME. after 35 years' service. His 18 years on the lake were very special. John always welcomed his children and extended family for swimming, boating, fishing and meals at the "Lousy Biscuit Lodge." He enjoyed golf, hunting, and watching the Red Sox. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of Lakewood Moonlight Bay for the wonderful care he received. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Sat., Feb. 22nd followed by a funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville. His final resting place will be at Sunset Cemetery in Norridgewock in the spring.
