Waterville Gerard ''Jerry'' Joseph Hartigan, 63, of Pleasantdale Ave., passed on peacefully Wed., Mar. 14, 2007 at his residence with his family members by his side. He was born in South Boston, MA. May 1, 1943, the son of Gerard ''Red'' William Hartigan and Grace Louise Cook Hartigan. He was affectionately called Jerry and was well-known for his genorosity, humor and quick wit. His friends and family will remember him as a character with a big heart. He had the ability to make friends everywhere he went. He always said ''Take care of each other, your family is all you have.'' He had been a First Class Rigger for Gen Ship in MA and for Bath Iron Works in Maine. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Marie S. Pelletier Hartigan; two sons, Gerard P. and Gregory A. Hartigan both of Waterville; two daughters, Danielle M. Hartigan of Winthrop and Kathalene K. Hartigan of Clinton; two brothers, Andy V. Hartigan of Chelsea, MA and William I. Hartigan of East Boston, MA; two sisters, Grace L. Craven of Stoneham, MA and Sissy A. Scott of Chelsea, MA; three grandchildren, Leah R.M. Hartigan of Winthrop, Samatha B.A. and Brandon I.R.. Lacroix both of Clinton; one great-granddaughter, Hannah Grace Marie Simmons of Winthrop. Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sat., Mar. 17, 2007 at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville with a funeral service celebrated at 3 p.m. Sat. at the funeral home..
