Winslow, Maine Dollena A. Michaud 85, died peacefully Wednesday evening at her residence with her loving family at her bedside after an extended battle with cancer. She was born in Waterville, Maine on June 7, 1929 the daughter of Maurice and Sarah Poulin Bilodeau. She was educated in local schools and was a graduate of Sister's Hospital School of Nursing here in Waterville with a degree in nursing. She enjoyed playing bridge with family members and friends as well as dancing; she was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was formerly employed as a medical transcriber and assistant to Dr. Lucien Veilleux for many years and continued her service with Dr. Sheridan Oldham and Dr. John Margolis. She was predeceased by a brother Paul who died in 1945 She is survived by her loving husband Gerald A. Michaud whom she married on April 9, 1950. Her three sons, Gerald Michaud, Jr. and wife Ginger of Waterville, Peter Michaud and wife Catherine of Waterville and Christopher Michaud and wife Kristal of Winslow. Her daughter Sarah Michaud and husband Dennis Perkins of Winslow. Her brother Maurice Bilodeau, Jr. and companion Jean Simpson of Zephyrhills, Florida. Also by a special niece Theresa Collier and family of Pittsfield, seven grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and other nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to MaineGeneral Hospice for their loving support and service and also a special thank you to nurse Danylle for her comfort and care. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home 10 Elm Street Waterville. A mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday at Notre Dame Church 116 Silver Street Waterville. Committal prayers and burial will take place later in the spring in the Village Cemetery in Vassalboro.
