Norridgewock Alfred W. Gervais, 71, of Burrill Hill Road, died Tues., Jan. 16, 2007 at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington. He was born in Waterville, Sept. 5, 1935, the son of Arthur A. and Amanda Veilleux Gervais. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp.His many jobs included Spring Brook Oil as a deliverer; truck driver for Flo-Jo Trucking Co.; school bus driver for SAD 54; and a crossing Guard in Norridgewock, retiring in 1999. He was predeceased by his parents; six brothers, Norman, Philip, Roland, Alphonse, Reginald and Leo Gervais; and by a sister, Jeannette Labrie. Survivors include his wife, Susan E. Palmer Gervais of Norridgewock; four sons, Alfred A. Gervais of Fairfield, Raymond J. Gervais and wife Mary of Waterville, Scott A. Gervais of Fairfield and William A. Palmer of Waterville; three daughters, Theresa C. Gervais of Portland, Joyce Dreiling and husband William of Texas and Amanda Smith and husband Darrin Smith Sr. of Norridgewock; three sisters, Irene Morrissette and Theresa Baera both of Niagra Falls, N.Y. and Shirley Morreale of Succasunna, N.J.; 17 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and by several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2007 at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sat., Jan. 20, 2007 at the funeral home with Rev. David Giles officiating.
