Stella M. Huard Obituary (1927 - 2014)

Stella M. Huard, 87, passed away Aug. 4, 2014 at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta, Maine. She was born in Winslow, Maine, Aug. 4, 1927, the daughter of the late Adelard Huard and Julianna Albert Huard. Stella graduated from Winslow High in 1946. She was employed at Hollingsworth & Whitney and later Scott Paper Co. She worked in the packing department and retired in 1989. She was predeceased by her brother, Norman Huard, and sisters Gertrude Bizier and Marcionette Dunton. Surviving are her brothers, Donald Huard of Augusta, Roland Huard of Mansfield, Conn., Robert Huard of Winslow and James Huard of Lake City Fl. She leaves behind sisters-in-law Gertrude Lacroix Huard and Carol Rancourt Huard, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In her younger years she played softball with a local team. In her later years she belonged to a local bowling team and to a talented group fo dancers call "A Touch of Class" They entertained veterans' groups, service clubs and nursing homes. Stella was a Red Sox and Celtic fan. A special thanks to Woodland in Hallowell and the nurses on 3rd West for their special are at Alfond Center for Health. Many special thanks to Carol Rancourt Huard for help, caring and making Stella laugh the past 3 1/2 years. At her request, there will be no visitation. Memorial service will be held Sept. 19 at Notre Dame Church in Waterville at 11 a.m. Arrangements by Gallant Funeral Home Inc., 10 Elm St., Waterville, Maine.
