Neil McLaughlin Obituary (1942 - 2015)

Waterville-Neil Anthony McLaughlin, of Waterville, died Tuesday, September 22, 2015, after a long illness, he was formerly of Somerville, Massachusetts. Neil was born in Greenock, Scotland, on November 15, 1942. He was predeceased by his mother, Patricia Feeney McLaughlin; his father, Peter McLaughlin; and his brother, Francis Joseph McLaughlin. He is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly McLaughlin, He is the father of Peter Francis McLaughlin, his wife, Robin, of Saugus, Massachusetts, and Sean Patrick McLaughlin of Fairfield, Maine. Grandfather of Mandi, Sarah, Emma, and Hannah; brother of Tricia McLaughlin of Malden, Massachusetts, step-grandfather of Audrey Lowe. Neil was a member of the Boilermaker's Union, Local 29, Quincy, Massachusetts, and the Teamsters Union, Local 25, of Charlestown, Massachusetts, He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 13486, Waterville and a friend of Bill W. He was in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany in the 1960s, a 1960 graduate of St. Clement's High School, Medford, Massachusetts. Relatives and friends invited to attend visiting hours from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 30 at the Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm Street, Waterville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, October 1, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church in Winslow. Internment at St. Francis Cemetery, Waterville. A memorial liturgy will be celebrated on November 27 at 10 am at St. Clement's Church, Medford, Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John's Food Pantry at Corpus Christi Parish, 70 Pleasant Street, Waterville, Maine, 04901, in memory of Neil.
