Lucienne Ouellet Obituary (1909 - 2011)

Waterville Sister Lucienne Ouellet, CSJ, 101, died Mon. Mar. 21, 2011 at Mount St. Joseph in Waterville. She was born Oct. 21, 1909 in Sainte Rose Du Degelis, Canada the daughter of Pierre and Alice St. Onge Ouellet. She was educated in St. Rose du Degelis schools and pursued studies in nursing at St. Vincent de Paul Hospital in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. Sr. Lucienne entered the novitiate of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Lyon in 1930. She is best remembered for her nursing skills which she provided at Sacred Heart Academy and Marie Joseph Hospital in Jackman, Academy of St. Joseph in South Berwick, Mount St. Joseph in Waterville and at Fontbonne Community where she retired in 1991. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Camille Yvette Morin; a sister-in-law, Victoire Ouellet; and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Marie-Anna, Adelina, Jeanne, Beatrice, a Sister of St. Anne, Euphemie; her brothers, Lucien, Gerard, Brother of the Sacred Heart; brothers-in-law, Francois-Xavier, Joseph-Pierre, Alphee, Leonel, and Camille. The Sisters of Saint Joseph wish to express their gratitude to all the employees of the Mount for the care and love they gave Sr. Lucienne during her stay at the facility. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thurs., Mar. 24, at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Fri., Mar. 25, at St. John the Baptist Church, 26 Monument St., Winslow. Burial will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Grove St., Waterville.
