Jerry A. Nye Obituary (1960 - 2020)

Jerry A. Nye 1960 - 2020 Waterville: Jerry passed away on May 8th, 2020 at his home after a long battle with failing health. He was born on June 10th,1960 in Groton, Connecticut to John S. Nye and Alice L. Goodale. Jerry graduated in 1979 from Waterville Senior High School. He worked at Maine General Medical Center, and Domino's Pizza in Waterville for over 27 years. In 2007, he partnered with his best friend Mike L. to open up 'Tubbs Snack Shack' in Bangor. He was a volunteer parent staff for 4 years with the Dirigo Company Young Marines; now known as the Dirigo Ranger Cadets. Over the years, Jerry made lots of friends due to his outgoing personality, and he truly enjoyed socializing. He cared about his co-workers, and would bring them plates of food from his family dinners when they were working during the holidays. In his younger years, he played softball on the Maine General Medical Center team. He enjoyed going to casinos, playing poker and other card games with friends and family, hunting, and sitting on the banks of the lakes fishing. He enjoyed cheering on his beloved Red Sox and Patriots. Jerry enjoyed spending time with family, and loved them with all of his heart. He spent many hours with his young step grandchildren; Caden and Kayla (his pride and joy); watching the trains pull in and out of the station in Waterville. He enjoyed playing board games and reading to them. Jerry was predeceased by his father John, and mother Alice; brothers David, Bobby, and Richard Nye. Jerry is survived by his brother Stephen Nye and his wife Diana Foster of Waterville; brother Tim Nye and his fiance Kathy Stone of Fairfield; sister Regina Breard and husband Darryl of Waterville; Step son Kenneth Dyer III and his fiance Erica Plato of Waterville; Step daughter Amy Giroux and her husband Joshua from Winslow; Step grandchildren Caden and Kayla Giroux of Winslow; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are under the care of Gallant Funeral Home in Waterville ME.
