Frederick Pellerin Obituary (1945 - 2021)

Frederick Pellerin August 3, 1945 - September 17, 2021 We are deeply saddened to share that the soul of our beloved brother, uncle, life partner, and friend left his earthly body to fly with the angels and other family members who went before him. Fred will be missed by all who loved and knew him: his life partner, Bill Witherell, of Wales, Maine, and Pompano Beach, Florida; his brothers and their spouses, Arthur and Sandra Pellerin Paul and Theresa Pellerin, and Robert and Rhonda Pellerin, all of Winslow, Maine; a brother-in-law, Roger Poulin, of Murrells Inlet, SC; a special cousin, David (Patricia) Gagnon, West Palm Beach, Fla. and Palermo, Me.; many St. Amand and Pellerin cousins; and many nieces and nephews, especially children of his eldest sister, Evangeline Bourassa, with whom he and Bill celebrated holidays and gatherings over the years. Dear friends from far and near have been of tremendous support to Fred and to Bill and we thank them. The 5th of 7 children of Arthur and Juliette (St. Amand) Pellerin, Fred was a graduate of Winslow High School and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He attended the Portland School of Art, and over the course of his life, he created original works of art in various mediums, sharing his original artworks with family and friends. He lived and worked for the Dunphy Corporation in Portland, Maine, and in sales for Domtar Corporation in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where he was able to practice spoken French, which was the first language in the Pellerin home. In 1986, Fred returned to Maine and worked in sales for Maine Poly and PureStat in Central Maine, and in real estate sales until his retirement. He and Bill spent winters in Florida and summers in Maine. Fred had a dynamic, loving and adventurous spirit, loved to travel, but always maintained an affection for his hometown of Winslow and reconnecting with family. Fred was in Florida at the time of his passing, undergoing treatment for chronic peripheral artery disease, complicated by a painful and stubborn leg wound and atrial fibrillation. We kept in touch with him by text messages, brief phone calls, and calls from Bill with updates. We are at peace knowing that he knew how very much we love him and that he loved us all in return. To honor the memory of Fred, his mother, and his sisters, please remember to end every conversation with family members and loved ones with "I love you." Fred is predeceased by his parents; his sisters, Evangeline Bourassa, Ann Michaud, and Esther Poulin; brothers-in-law, Lionel Bourassa and Roland Michaud; niece, Kathleen (Bourassa) Waterman; and nephew, Lee Michaud. Arrangements are in the care of Gallant Funeral Home, Waterville, Maine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the convenience of the family, with internment in St. Francis Cemetery, Waterville.
