Emily M. Pelletier Obituary (1919 - 2009)

Emily Albert Pelletier, beloved mother and grandmother, went home to be with her Savior March 18, 2009. Emily was blessed with a long and active life still enjoying an independent life, short walks outside and driving her car. We described her as sharp as a tack. She didnt miss a beat and knew all that what was going in the world through the newspaper and TV news. Emily was born in Waterville on November 12, 1919 daughter of Beatrice and Leon Albert. She was a lifelong resident of Waterville and Winslow. Emily was a housewife and busy mother raising five children and working at the Wyandotte Woolen Mill as a spooler. She attended Waterville and Winslow schools and graduated from Winslow High School in 1937. She often talked about how she loved school and how much fun they had back then. She was very athletic and played field hockey, basketball and softball. When there was a softball game and Emily was in the outfield, someone in the crowd would give a shout to remind the batter not to hit the ball in her direction. She also loved to swim and dive. Emily was predeceased by her husband, Lucien Mike Pelletier; two daughters, Gail Pelletier and Donna Duplessie; her sister and best friend, Florida Dumont; and her brother, Warren Albert. She is survived by her sons, Reginald and his wife, Loretta of Topsham and Danny and his wife, Renee of Fort Lauderdale; one daughter, Kathy Bureau and her husband Dean of Winslow; granddaughters, Cindy St. Amand and her husband Mark of Winslow, Celeste Libby and her husband, Gary of Portland, Liz Pelletier of Portland and Brenna Pelletier of Fort Lauderdale; and one grandson, Michel Pelletier of Oregon; two great grandsons, Dylan and Travis St. Amand of Winslow. She was cherished by her family and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army P.O. Box 137, Waterville, ME. You are invited to pay your last respects and visit the family at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville on Wednesday, March 25th 7 to 9 PM. A memorial service will be the following day, Thursday, March 26th at 10:30 AM at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, 2539 Riverside Drive, Vassalboro.
