Cecile E. Libby Obituary (1948 - 2007)

Belgrade Cecile E. Libby, 58, of Smithfield Road in Belgrade, passed away Sat., July 7, 2007at her residence, after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Waterville, Nov. 14, 1948 the daughter of the late Wilbert J. and Elsie Vashon Fortin. She was a Winslow High School graduate. She was employed at AMHI and Riverside both in Augusta. Cecile had a love for reading and always had a book she was reading. She also loved gardening, water sports and skiing. Her first love was her family with her consistant devotion and attention to their needs. She will be greatly missed and remembered as fun loving, understanding, hopeful, considerate, a heart to heart friend, all with love and a smile. She is survived by her loving husband, Keith Libby, two sons, Jason K. and Keith Savasuk and a daughter, Michelle Getchell all of Belgrade; a sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Gerry Maher of Minnesota; four grandchildren, Marissa, Brandon and Sarah Getchell and Justin Rice all of Maine; a niece, Lisa Moore and a nephew, Bill Hawkes both of Minnesota; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wed., July 11, at the Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 12 at Notre Dame Church, 112 Silver St., Waterville with Rev. Bruce Siket officiating. Burial will follow at 1p.m. in the Chapel at the new Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta.
