Clement P. Boulette Obituary (1928 - 2018)

Clement P. Boulette 1928-2018 On February 20, 2018, a gentle and kind man, Clement Patrick Boulette passed away peacefully, surrounded by the family he loved so much. Born in Waterville, Maine on March 17, 1928 to Clement T. and Anne (Doucette) Boulette, he attended Waterville schools and was a member of the Waterville High School Class of 1947. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, assigned to the famous battleship, U.S.S. Missouri. While serving on the Missouri, Clem had the honor of singing and playing his guitar for President Harry S. Truman. He was a member of American Legion Bourque-Lanigan Post #5. On September 10, 1949, after returning from the service, Clem married the true love of his life, Della Hebert. In September, Clem and Della celebrated 68 years of marriage. For many years, Clem was employed at the Hathaway Shirt Company in Waterville. He also had a passion for music, and he used his musical gift to teach hundreds of people to play the guitar at Al Corey's Music Center. He played his guitar in numerous area restaurants and at special events throughout Central Maine with local musicians like Al Corey and with his own group, Three Notes + One. Clem was very active in the Sacred Heart Church community, serving in the first group of Eucharistic Ministers, and as the Director of the Sacred Heart Folk Mass Group for 25 years. He was very active in the Cursillo Movement at St. Paul's Center in Augusta. Starting in the 1970's, Clem devoted at least one hour each week for Adoration at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel in Waterville. Clem is survived by his wife, Della Hebert Boulette, and by four daughters, Nancy Boulette of Baltimore, Maryland; Brenda LaVerdiere and her husband Charlie of Wilton; Tina Boudreau and her husband Don of Sidney; and Katherine Brown and her husband Bob of Waterville; and by one son, Alan Boulette and his wife Tammy of Hope. He is also survived by one sister, Jeanine (Boulette) Bossie and her husband Joseph of Houlton, and by 7 grandchildren, Michael LaVerdiere, Lisa (LaVerdiere) Melvin, Nick Boulette, Jennifer Tingler, Nate Boulette, Allison Harris and Ben Brown. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at Lakewood Care Center for the exceptional care and kindness shown to Clem and the entire family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Saturday, March 3 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 70 Pleasant Street, Waterville.
